Wheel of the Year

We at The Zia Temple practice the observation of many holidays throughout the year, these are Pagan Sabbat's, on these day's we take the time to celebrate, reflect and give thanks to the spirits and forces of nature around us. We appreciate the rhythms of the solar system, the turning of the wheel and we weave our strongest magic when the Sun is at the highest point in the sky and when the veil between this side and the other is thinnest.

VRTO 2020 Optimism Panel

June 21st 2020 Solstice VRTO Party!

Theme for the panel: Optimism Moving Forward

Objective: to bring together a panel of intelligent and creative minds to discuss the optimistic points of the present and future of virtual realities & plants with their potentials for advancing our collective civilization.

The reasoning behind our choices is that psychedelic people are often pollinators of good ideas and scientific driven people are results driven and authors are the most effective communicators

Pre-recorded Zoom Chat that will debut in VRTO spaces on the Summer Solstice.

Questions ?

  • How can we use virtual reality, psychedelics, generational wisdom and satellite internet technologies to evolve our language so we can communicate more effectively?

  • How have altered states of consciousness such as dreams, meditations, or visionary induced states influenced your work?

  • How can art, communications technology, virtual reality, and psychedelics all play a role in creating a brighter future?

  • When you imagine the world in 2030, what do you see?

  • We seem more collectively aware that we are facing a global crisis - if we are able to effectively coordinate resource distribution and create a form of sustainable relationship to the planet - how can we share those ideas in a way that will be received well by the collectivity?

Why are perceptual contents of Psychedelic experiences important? - Celestina Aurora Madry

"Albert Hoffman’s discovery of LSD led to the discovery of the serotonergic system, after it was discovered that LSD binds to certain types of serotonin receptors because it contains an indole ring, the same molecular backbone that serotonin has. I think it’s no coincidence that out of all drugs to spur on such a discovery, that it was LSD- I doubt that such a discovery would have been made if Albert Hoffman would have ended up synthesizing an SSRI instead of LSD. It is the fact that LSD has such profound qualia associated with its ingestion, that shed light on the idea that tinkering with brain chemistry in a certain way, can make people feel different. Remember, before the 1950s, the idea that brain chemistry is in some way responsible for our feelings was still totally foreign to science, so Albert Hoffman’s discovery of LSD leading to the discovery of the serotonergic system’s role in our feelings was novel and quite revolutionary at the time." - Qualiology Audio Recording was taken from: VRTO2018 Empathic Understanding w Psychedelics & EVR https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8qEbN...
